I. General Description

Participate as the NAZ representative to the Education Fund (EF) 501(c)(3), which consists of six (6) members from the State Board of Directors and one (1) from each of the five (5) local leagues.


II. Time Frame

Two years


III. Experience/Training Availability

No prior knowledge or training is required


IV. Potential Program Participant Roles

The Education Fund receives, administers and distributes donations which are tax deductible based on 501(c)(3) Federal tax designation for charitable organizations. The Board is responsible for distributing those funds, upon request, to the State and Local Leagues for worthwhile and needed programs and projects in compliance with the

501(c)(3) designation.


V. In Person/Remote

Participation is via Zoom approximately once a quarter.

Need to be a member of LWVNAZ


VII. Background Information

The Education Fund Board has established bylaws, guidelines, and forms for the receipt and expenditure of funds in compliance with IRS regulations. In general, the organization must not be organized or operated for the benefit of private interests and is restricted in how much political and legislative (lobbying) activities may be conducted.
